Dear [[Salutation:40]],

Maybe you’re a pack rat and have a hard time throwing things out. Maybe you’re an organization buff who loves finding a place for everything. Or maybe you are just ecologically minded and feel guilty filling landfills with your household possessions.
Whatever the case, repurposing old items can be the answer and is becoming increasingly popular for design, storage, and organization reasons. Plus, it saves money to boot.

A glance around our homes likely reveals many items that we once used; but, as our lifestyles changed due to marriage, children, etc., these “fabulous favorites” are used less frequently or sometimes not at all. The old is not necessarily trash, but it is no longer treasured and can serve a better purpose being used by someone else or used for another purpose.

Repurposing often requires a little washing up and a touch of imagination; but, by following the three Rs (repurpose, recycle, reduce), you’ll use fewer natural resources, discover new uses for old things, and find fresh homes for your castoffs.

The next time you’re contemplating giving something the old heave-ho, tackle the first “R” – repurpose – by finding creative new uses for your things.

Re-purposing your unwanted things is not only ecologically sound and economically smart; it’s fun and nurtures the creative and resourceful part of ourselves.

Warmest Regards,
